Some thoughts about Dastardly & Muttley #4

Can a man and his dog save the world?

The whole planet is getting crazier and not even their leaders are safe. Is up to Dastardly and Muttley to try to find a way to stop this from becoming a huge war.

Eh, things are pretty much the same.

Garth Ennis offers a new installment where he continues to focus on the cartoony change that the world is suffering. More and more people are getting turned into caricatures which include the classic insane reactions and deformations that allow for a few fun adventures and situations. Just now I'm realizing that a few other characters like Zee might be new interpretions of other members from the old cartoons.

Unfortunately, this is starting to get repetitive. This is pretty much the same that has been happening since issue 1 and Ennis doesn't offer anything really new about the concept the book nor progresses the plot in a meaningful manner. There's not even his classic character work and social commentary to compensate.

Mauricet's artwork is really good though thanks to the expressive style that emphasizes the cartoony tone really well.

Wish things were better, hope the next one offers more plot.
