Some thoughts about Batgirl & the Birds of Prey #13

The Birds of Prey are together at last.

Poison Ivy has been trying to punish the culprit of hurting the world but Barbara will make her realize there are better ways to make justice.

Well, this ending was surprisingly satisfying aside from a few issues.

Julie and Shawna Benson deliver the conclusion of this arc by giving closure to quite a few plot-points. The character work is simple, yet effective, all the characters are depicted accurately although nothing particularly new about them is explored. That being said, their interactions are the highlight of the chapter thanks to natural dialogue and entertaining conversations they have.

Plus, the plot was quite good in many aspects. For example, Ivy's history with the team was finally addressed and the final pages hint at a much more classic version of the team which makes me wonder what will happen in the future and how this will affect the other Batgirl book. ON THE OTHER HAND, this also makes me wonder what was the point of Gus since he left in a pretty quick and anticlimactic way.

The art can be a bit erratic. Roge Antonio's style is still pretty decent but Breno Tanura is not able to follow the same kind of polish.

Aside from that, I'm excited about what this represents. Nice read.
