Some thoughts about Aquaman #27

Aquaman's mission to save Atlantis becomes more difficult.

Arthur and Dolphin have been captured by creatures who believe that they can gain some of Atlantis' favors and now is up to Mera to find a way to save all of them.

This storyarc continues to be quite entertaining.

Dan Abnett offers a new chapter where he explores even more of the world around Atlantis and the people connected to it. The characterization continues to be solid due to the interesting cast that the writer has introduced to the book and the themes he plays with. The political tone remains with the already mentioned Trump parallels but also creating interesting twists about it like how just because the mutants don't have the privileges from Atlantis, that doesn't give them the right to commit crimes (which of course, is completely true).

The way how the story progresses is also appreciated since Abnett developes several segments where he implements a lot of the characters from the Aquaman universe like Mera, Vulko and Garth in a logical way showing some surprises here and there which provides a lot of content for the read.

Stjepan Sejic remains in art duties and his work is still quite good thanks to his wonderful storytelling skills and great expressions for the characters, the best parts of the book are when the cast just start delivering emotions.

Good stuff, wish the next one would come sooner.
