Some thoughts about Superman #24

Can Superman save his family from one of his worst enemies?

Manchester Black is back and it turns out that he has been planning everything that has been happening to Clark and his family just to control Jon and that could mean the end of everyone.

This arc continues to deliver.

Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason offer a new installment where they bring back Manchester Black properly. Is the classic character created by Joe Kelly as an analogue to The Authority's beliefs from the early 2000's about how the world needed antiheroes and less classic heroes like Superman. The theme works really well since the writers really get Black and manage to create a new interesting direction for him and his plans.

Plus, is cool to see how this has been planned since basically the beginning of Rebirth. Black's presence was always felt but people were not sure if it was truly him who was controlling everyone. Is a solid pay off to the whole title.

Gleason is accompanied by Doug Mahnke in art duties and their work is really impressive during their respective sections while the transitions between both styles is quite natural.

Great stuff, one of my favorite reads this week.
