Some thoughts about Batwoman #2

Batwoman will have to face her own past once again.

Kate has returned to Coryana to find out that everything is much different now and in many cases for the worst.

This story continues and sadly I can't say is much more interesting.

Marguerite Bennett and James Tynion IV deliver a new chapter where they explore a bit more about the background of this setting and what connects it to Kate. The thing is that while some of the events from the past are revealed and the reason why they're so important to Kate is shown, they're still not executed in a compelling enough way to make you invested in them. There's a certain kind of conflict going on between the different characters but again, is not that engaging to make you interested in it.

The characterization is solid once again, there's nothing really wrong about Kate's portrayal but there isn't anything new about it either unfortunately so not a lot of surprises there.

Also, "Knife" is a pretty stupid name for a villain.

Steve Epting remains in art duties and his work is pretty solid with lots of beautiful characters and environments.

Aside from that, this was a dull issue overall, hope the next one is better.
