Some thoughts about Optimus Prime #4

Earth is in danger once again.

Optimus can't help but reminisce the events from the past due that they're so similar to his current situation. However, he will soon realize that he should have paid more attention to the newcomers.

Another solid installment fortunately.

John Barber delivers a new chapter where he developes more about the main plot as well as some sub-plots. The exploration of the past remains solid by allowing obscure characters like Jetfire to finally have some time in the spotlight to reveal his personality and background while also giving Optimus's perspective a bit more depth.

In the present time things are also moving at a nice pace with a few segments focusing on multiple characters like Marissa, Thundercracker, Optimus, Aileron and Arcee while creating a solid cliffhanger at the end which makes me excited for the next issue.

Alex Milne is in charge of the art here and I'm glad he's still working in the franchise, his expressive characters and strong storytelling really makes this issue shine although I'm not sure about the colours which might be the reason why I didn't like Kei Zama's art so much previously.

Enjoyable though, I just wish there was more of it.
