Some thoughts about Batman #17

Bane is coming and nobody can stop him.

Bruce's children have just been defeated and he has decided to face Bane alone but that doesn't mean that the rest of loved ones won't suffer.

Some things worked, others didn't and when they did they weren't all that great.

For one, it turns out that the Nightwing, Red Hood and Robin bodies that appeared in the last chapter were the real ones so this presents all sorts of questions, the first one being, why didn't Bane simply kill these guys? Is not like he's not willing to commit such act anyway and that would have saved even more time, not to mention that they were hanged which supposedly should kill them instantly so the result makes no sense. Also, Bruce asks Superman to keep his sons safe instead of, you know, actually asking him to help him defeat Bane which would take like 5 seconds at most.

Other than that, the rest of the issue is not so bad. There are some interesting moments like how the Pycho-Pirate still remembers the multiverse and Gordon had some cool scenes as well. On the other hand, this weren't exactly the most impressive segments I've seen recently so they didn't leave me particularly satisfied.

David Finch handles the artwork and presentation-wise I think he gets the job done with solid storytelling skills and intersting depictions.

Other than that, this issue brings too many questions that affect the suspension of disbelief. Not recommended.
