Some thoughts about Optimus Prime #2

Optimus Prime's mission is becoming more complicated.

More and different beings are coming to Earth and while some of them might help, Optimus can't help but wonder if he should trust them.

WOW! This issue delivered in so many levels.

John Barber continues his story about the whole Transformers cast, because is really a full Transformers book and not only about Optimus, by exploring and reintroducing some classic aspects of the mythos. The appearance of the Junkions as well as their connection to the last time they were seen gives a nice sense of continuity which has always been Barber's speciality but he also creates a bigger background for Optimus and what made him how he is right now.

The relationships are also well-executed since the writer uses this opportunity to reveal more about the friendship between Optimus and Prowl along with several other members of the cast which provide a quite dense issue that even manages to include some G.I. Joe characters.

I don't know what to say about Kei Zama's artwork, it certainly has a complexity about the designs but the style is still too dark for my tastes which doesn't allow for clarity in the scenes.

Other than that, this was a quite content-packed issue and I'm glad I checked it out.
