Some thoughts about Justice League of America: The Atom Rebirth #1

Someone needs to handle the threats that no one else can see.

Ryan Choi has always been a shy student but now with the help of Professor Palmer, he will need to find the courage to face all the challenges that are about to appear.

The one-shots to build-up the upcoming Justice League of America title officially begin and is of course handled by the same writer Steve Orlando and so far is a pretty satisfying work.

This basically serves as the introduction of Ryan Choi to DCU and how he fits into this reboot. Orlando gives him a completely new personality, while Gail Simone's version was a nerdy guy he still showed a strong presence during his adventures, Orlando's Ryan on the other hand goes to the extreme by making him overly timid and suffering from several problems with his own body. You might think this could be something bad but the contrast actually works since Ryan is on the path of becoming something better and he actually developes over the course of this issue.

The relationship between Ray Palmer and him is pretty enjoyable and works as prologue to the events in the Rebirth one-shot which creates a bigger connection between them. Plus, Orlando also reveals more about the universe around them including Adam Cray, one of the most obscure characters who was also The Atom at one point.

Andy MacDonald handles the artwork and decent with expressive enough characters and a clean style.

Promising and makes me excited for the following stories.
