Some thoughts about Aquaman #14

Everything goes according to Black Manta's plans.

The Aquamarines are attacking Atlantis and to stop them and the rest of the surface world from causing more damage, Arthur will have to make a desperate decision.

This one was much better in terms of plot progression overall.

Dan Abnett utitlizes this chapter to delivers lots of interesting plot-points that will certainly be developed in the future including the fate of Arthur as a leader, the war between both worlds and Black Manta's plans. All is coming together and the writer manages to explore each segment in a satisfying way and at a nice pace.

The characterization is pretty solid with Arthur and Mera dealing with the current situation in a logical way while the rest of the cast receive little moments to shine.

Philippe Briones remains in art duties and his art is still consistent at the very least at creating detailed characters and scenarios.

And that's the usual ranking for this book, consistent, delivers what it promises.
