Some thoughts about Detective Comics #945

Is it really Batman's fault?

The Victim Syndicate has been attacking everyone connected to Batman's mission and the rest of his team are trying to figure out if they're fighting for the right cause.

I think I'm liking this more with every new issue.

James Tynion IV delivers a new chapter where he focuses mostly on characterization and in that regard, is very successful. As a premise, the Victim Syndicate might not be anything new since Peter Tomasi basically already did it first during Batman and Robin, and their influence in the whole cast is a bit too convenient but the character work we get from it is what makes this shine.

There are several segments concentrating on many members of the cast including Batman, Batwoman, Calyface, Spoiler, etc. Each one of those segments reveal what they're current struggles after everything that has happened to them and manages to explore more about their own personalities in a natural and compelling manner. Is a really satisfying read if you want to see some development for them.

All Barrionuevo and Carmen Carnero share art duties and their styles are different but the story doesn't feel disjointed because of that. I would say that I enjoyed Carnero's work the most though.

Definitely enjoyable. Excited for the next one.
