Some thoughts about Detective Comics #942

The night is finally over.

Hugo Strange has revealed his own intentions to Batman while the rest of the monsters are taking over Gotham, is up to all of them to show Strange what's wrong about his ideas.

Well, I guess this was a decent conclusion for an overall decent story.

Steve Orlando and James Tynion IV deliver the final chapter of this crossover by concentrating on the final conflict between Batman and Hugo Strange. There is some classic insights about Batman's character that contrast with Strange's own beliefs and come to a logical conclusion. The rest of the cast get some decent moments as well. Is pretty much your usual finale for a Batman event.

The thing is that, once again, is not impressive nor groundbreaking. Is pretty much your usual Batman crossover stuff that tells more about what we already know about the character and quite frankly, doesn't explore more beyond that. I hate to say this but I think Scott Snyder executed these kind of stories better during his run.

Andy MacDonald handles the artwork and is solid with a pretty gothic style that creates interesting and fitting moments.

Other than that, this is merely an okay ending for an unremarkable crossover. Not bad but not great.
