Some thoughts about Archie #11

The battle of the bands has arrived to Riverdale.

Veronica believes that they can win the next talent contest but Betty is ready to prove her wrong and of course, Archie is in the middle of everything.

Once again, this proves to be a quite charming read.

Mark Waid offers a new chapter where he focuses on his ongoing plot about the love triangle between Archie, Betty and Veronica while also creating a little story for them to play into. I like this kind of approach, it allows for one-and-done tales while also being part of the overaching plot. The tale itself being about the whole cast participating in a music contest and all the hilarious stuff that happens because of it.

However, the character work remains one of the most important aspects here with the cast reacting in their own ways to the contest and showing their motivations about it. Is good to know that the love triangle is having the most logical and likable resolution.

Thomas Pitilli and Ryan Jampole handle the artwork and is certainly fitting for the Archie universe with an interesting style and storytelling. Is not as polished as previous artists' works though.

Solid issue. Wonder where the story will go now?
